HUTBANA 2026 celebrates industrial heritage in Chorzów and Katowice

The HUTBANA 2026 event, titled ‘Metallurgical Farewell to Summer,’ took place on August 30, celebrating the industrial history of the Upper Silesian and Zagłębie Metropolis. Participants visited the Metallurgy Museum in Chorzów and the Rolling Mill in Katowice to learn about the region's industrial heritage and the demanding nature of historical metallurgical work.

A major highlight of the event was a journey between the two locations using a vintage 1953 Konstal tram. During the trip, Dr. Jacek Kurek provided commentary on the history of Silesia and the local work ethic. The event combined technical monument sightseeing with historical transport to honor the industrial identity of Chorzów and Katowice.
