Huvepharma acquires Euroapi Italy’s Brindisi plant, securing jobs for 130 workers

Bulgarian pharmaceutical group Huvepharma signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Euroapi Italy, including the fermentation plant in Brindisi, Italy. The deal, announced on 29 July 2026, adds about 25% to Huvepharma’s fermentation capacity, bringing total volume above 12,000 cubic metres and strengthening its position in the European biotech sector. Executive director Kiril Domushev highlighted the synergy between Huvepharma’s biotechnological focus and the plant’s long‑standing expertise.

Italian regional officials said the sale provides a concrete outlook for the roughly 130 employees at the Brindisi site. Regional Development and Labour Assessor Eugenio Di Sciascio noted that the transaction secures industrial continuity for the territory, which has faced recent energy‑transition challenges and chemical‑sector downsizing. Authorities, trade unions and Confindustria will work with Huvepharma on a transition plan aimed at preserving employment levels and fostering new industrial programmes.
