Hwacheon County provides support for agricultural food packaging and design
Hwacheon County is providing additional financial support to enhance the competitiveness of processed agricultural products made from local ingredients. The initiative, which runs through December, involves a total project budget of 100 million won, including 30 million won in self-funded contributions.
The program aims to assist approximately 10 companies with the costs of purchasing packaging materials, such as pouches and boxes, and developing new product designs. Eligible applicants include registered professional distributors producing goods at the Hwacheon County Agricultural Products Comprehensive Processing Support Center.
Support levels vary based on the entity type and packaging style. Agricultural corporations and groups can receive up to 7 million won for standard packaging and up to 9.1 million won for smart packaging. Individual farmers can receive up to 3.5 million won for standard packaging and 5.6 million won for smart packaging. Additionally, up to 2.1 million won is available for design development and copper plate production.
By aligning packaging designs with urban consumer preferences, the county intends to improve the appeal of local products for gift-giving and expand distribution channels into department stores, retail shops, and markets to increase farmer income.
