Hwagae Garden on Gyodong Island hosts autumn chrysanthemum exhibition

Hwagae Garden on Gyodong Island, located in Ganghwa County, has become a prominent autumn destination featuring a special chrysanthemum and maze exhibition running through the end of the month. The garden includes various attractions such as an artificial waterfall, walking paths, and a skywalk observatory accessible via monorail that offers views of the West Sea. Visitors can also explore local history at the Yeonsangun exile site.

To enhance the tourist experience, the ‘Gyodong Peace Mission Tour’ is currently available. This mobile-based program uses GPS via the ‘Local Universe’ app, allowing visitors to complete missions at various locations across the island. Participants who complete at least five of the 15 available missions can receive local specialties, such as Ganghwa island rice, sent to them by mail, with gifts available to the first 300 applicants.
