Hwang Jung-eum discusses career rise and financial turnaround

Actress Hwang Jung-eum shared reflections on her career and financial history during a recent appearance by Julien Kang on her YouTube channel. Hwang revealed that prior to her breakout role in the MBC sitcom ‘High Kick Through the Roof’, she had as little as 500 won in her bank account. Following the success of the series, she experienced a significant financial turnaround, earning billions of won and securing numerous commercial advertisements.

Hwang noted that her intense dedication to acting during that period was driven by the necessity of making a living. She also recalled the physical hardships of filming, including a difficult scene in mid-winter involving sprinklers.

During the conversation, Julien Kang, her former co-star from the same sitcom, offered words of encouragement regarding her personal life and character, describing her as a sincere and pure-hearted individual.
