Hwaseong City recruits participants for 2026 Democratic Citizen Academy

Hwaseong Special City is recruiting participants for the ‘2026 Hwaseong Democratic Citizen Academy,’ which will be held at Hwaseong Citizen University from November 11 to December 5. Under the theme ‘Reading Today’s Life through Democracy,’ the program consists of eight sessions covering topics such as the climate crisis, caregiving, civic participation, artificial intelligence (AI), meritocracy, and gender equality.

The educational format combines expert lectures with citizen discussions and Q&A sessions. Experts will present key issues, while citizen debaters will connect these topics to local life and experiences.

Registration is open to Hwaseong citizens interested in democracy and social change. The program is free of charge, with approximately 30 participants recruited per session. Those who attend at least seven of the eight sessions will receive a certificate of completion. Applications can be submitted via the Hwaseong City integrated reservation system or through QR codes provided in academy promotional materials.
