Hwaseong Songsan Grape Festival attracts 120,000 visitors
The Hwaseong Songsan Grape Festival, themed ‘A Single Bunch’s Journey, Hwaseong Songsan Grape Farm to Festa’, concluded successfully after attracting approximately 120,000 visitors. Held over two days at the Hwaseong Eco Farm Theme Park and Dongtan Lake Park, the event focused on connecting consumers with the agricultural process of grape production.
Participants engaged in various experiential programs, including grape stomping, harvesting, and making grape-based snacks like ice cream and injeolmi. The festival also featured direct sales markets where local farmers sold high-quality Songsan grapes directly to the public. Cultural programs, such as singing contests, busking, and string performances, were held throughout the venues.
Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun and Gyeonggi Province Governor Chu Mi-ae attended the opening ceremony. Mayor Jeong emphasized the importance of the festival in promoting the brand value of Songsan grapes and expressed gratitude to the farmers for their hard work despite challenging conditions like heatwaves. The city aims to continue improving the festival to enhance its competitiveness and support local agricultural markets.
