Hyatt and Extell announce StandardX hotel for Times Square

Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Extell Development Company have partnered to bring the StandardX lifestyle brand to North America with a new hotel in Manhattan. The project, located at 255 West 45th Street in the Broadway theater district, is expected to open by the second half of 2028.

The development, part of the 60-story Torch tower designed by Oda, will feature approximately 1,800 guest rooms, making it one of the largest hotels in New York City. Architectural highlights include high-altitude amenities such as an observation deck situated over 1,000 feet above street level and a closed-room freefall attraction.

In addition to the hotel, the site will include a rooftop pool, a rooftop bar and lounge, and significant food and beverage spaces. The project follows a $1.25 billion construction financing package led by J.P. Morgan secured by Extell in September. Extell expects the tower to generate an annual stabilized net operating income between $250 million and $270 million.
