Hybe India expands girl group auditions to 23 locations

Hybe India has expanded its talent search for a new girl group, adding eight cities to its in-person audition schedule. The new locations include Lucknow, Dimapur, Kohima, Shillong, Jaipur, Indore, Goa, and Kochi, bringing the total number of in-person audition sites to 23 across India and overseas.

The audition project, which began in March, is open to women born between 2005 and 2011. Applicants can compete in several categories, including vocals, rap, dance, acting, and modeling. According to the company, the initial round of auditions saw significant interest, drawing applicants from all 28 Indian states and six union territories, as well as the Indian diaspora in 116 countries.

Lee Woo-chang, CEO of Hybe India, stated that the company intends to discover and systematically train artists capable of representing India on a global scale. This initiative is part of Hybe’s broader ‘multihome, multigenre’ strategy to expand artist development beyond South Korea into markets such as the US, Japan, and Latin America.
