Hybrid Cloud and GovTech Propel Digital Transformation in Latin America

Hybrid cloud and virtualization are being promoted as critical infrastructure for digital competitiveness across Central America and the Caribbean. Organizations in sectors such as banking, telecommunications, commerce, manufacturing, tourism and the public sphere must innovate quickly, meet tighter regulations, protect data against growing cyber threats and control operating costs. The region’s increasing digital payments—over 40% of adults according to Global Findex 2025—are driving demand for flexible, resilient infrastructures that can run workloads in private data centers, public clouds or multiple providers simultaneously.

In Colombia, the GovTech 2026 conference gathered public agencies, utility firms, academics and technology partners to discuss regulation, artificial intelligence, telemetry and data analytics for public‑service transformation. Speakers highlighted the need to turn data into better decisions, improve water‑service tariffs, reduce losses and adopt smart‑metering and advanced reporting. Integrasoft CEO Jorge Hernán Salazar Baena emphasized that the challenge now lies in converting information into efficient, sustainable services for citizens.
