Hybrid Superyacht Simena Completes First Mediterranean Season
The 62‑metre hybrid sailing superyacht Simena, built by ARES Yachts in Fethiye, Turkey, has finished its inaugural Mediterranean cruising programme. Over the season the ketch‑rigged vessel logged roughly 3,250 nautical miles, including a non‑stop 1,200‑nautical‑mile delivery run from Fethiye to Monaco and multiple offshore passages between the Strait of Messina, Cap Corse, Kythira and other ports.
During its voyages the yacht recorded speeds of up to 16 knots in 20‑knot winds and maintained 8.5‑9.5 knots in 13‑16‑knot conditions while heeling gracefully. Simena’s hybrid system allows the propeller to generate electricity for hotel loads once the yacht reaches 7 knots, contributing to its 4‑star SEA Index environmental rating. The yacht is slated to appear at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 after a continued cruise along the French Riviera and a potential visit to Portofino and Sardinia.
