Hybrid trailer and V2G pilot highlight greener vehicle tech push

Aboard unveiled the T4, a 25‑foot hybrid travel trailer built on a skateboard‑chassis that integrates solar panels, a 200 kWh battery, heat‑pump climate control and full kitchen appliances. The trailer offers up to four beds, a 58‑gallon fresh‑water tank and 600 W of rooftop solar, aiming to enable longer off‑grid stays while reducing towing‑vehicle fuel consumption.

In Massachusetts, five energy firms (Eversource, National Grid, EnergyHub, Sunrun and The Mobility House) launched the ConnectedSolutions program to test vehicle‑to‑grid (V2G) technology. Around 60 participants – including residential owners and electric school buses – will be able to sell stored electricity back to the grid during peak periods, helping offset the state’s high electricity rates and demonstrating the backup‑power potential of bidirectional EV charging.
