Robinhood expands services with crypto perpetuals, AI agents, and weekend trading

Robinhood has announced a major expansion of its trading capabilities, introducing crypto perpetual futures, AI-powered trading agents, and weekend stock trading. During its HOOD Summit in Houston, the company revealed plans to offer perpetual futures contracts for eight digital assets: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, Cardano, Chainlink, and HYPE. These contracts, which have no fixed expiration dates, will offer up to 10x leverage for Bitcoin and Ethereum and 3x leverage for the other six assets. The service will be provided by Robinhood Derivatives using infrastructure from Bitstamp, with trading fees set at 0.01% through the end of 2026.

Additionally, the company is rolling out Robinhood Agents, an in-app AI platform that allows users to build autonomous agents for market research and automated execution. Users can select models from providers like OpenAI and Anthropic and set specific rules or continuous strategies via a feature called Loops. To manage risk, agents operate within dedicated accounts with customizable approval settings.

Robinhood also plans to expand its 24-hour weekday trading model to include weekend trading for a selected group of U.S. stocks and ETFs via the Bruce ATS platform. This move aims to provide retail investors with sophisticated tools and continuous market access traditionally reserved for institutional traders.
