Hyderabad Advocate Murder: Court Orders Two-Day Custody for Accused Mahboob Alam Khan

A Metropolitan Sessions Court in Hyderabad granted a two‑day police custody order for Mahboob Alam Khan, the second accused in the murder of High Court advocate Khaja Moizuddin. The custody, set for 10 a.m. on 6 August until 4:30 p.m. on 7 August, will be carried out by the Nampally Police Station under strict safeguards prohibiting threats, coercion or third‑degree methods. After interrogation, Mahboob must undergo a medical examination and be produced before the XII Additional Metropolitan Chief Judicial Magistrate.

Separately, Mahboob Alam Khan and his son Mujahid Alam Khan filed a writ petition in the Hyderabad High Court challenging the seizure of nine firearms registered in their names. The petition argues that the seizure violates the Arms Act and constitutional provisions, and seeks to have the weapons placed under the custody of the arms dealer Asian Arms. The firearms were seized by police as part of the ongoing investigation into the advocate’s murder.
