Hyderabad authorities expose fire safety certificate forgery by eight junior colleges
A routine verification by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) uncovered forged fire no‑objection certificates (NOCs) submitted by eight private junior colleges seeking academic affiliations. The investigation, prompted by a complaint against Haindavi Junior College, led HYDRAA to request 76 NOCs from district education officers, finding eight of them falsified with fake reference numbers and a forged HYDRAA commissioner’s signature.
Hyderabad police have registered a criminal case, booking the eight colleges under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The agencies have asked district officers to cancel the affiliations and operating permissions granted on the basis of the fraudulent documents. The probe continues to determine the role of intermediaries in the racket.
