Hyderabad courier uses pepper spray to steal gold mangalsutra

On July 31, a 20‑year‑old man posing as a courier entered a woman's home in Miyapur, Hyderabad. He sprayed the victim with pepper spray and snatched her gold mangalsutra, a gold chain weighing about four tolas.

Police examined CCTV footage, identified the suspect, and traced him to his native village of Kanigiri in Prakasam district. He was arrested by the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, the stolen chain and the Ayurvedic medicines he was delivering were recovered, and authorities warned residents to verify the identity of delivery persons before opening doors.
