Hyderabad Cricket Association plans stadium upgrades and November elections

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is preparing for elections, which secretary M. Jeevan Reddy indicated could take place in November.

Following a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Annual General Meeting, the HCA is planning significant infrastructure upgrades at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (RGICS). Planned improvements include revamping the electrical and drainage systems, enhancing the stadium's external appearance, improving parking, and addressing spectator viewing issues caused by fencing. The HCA is also looking into creating a walkway from the stadium metro station.

These developments coincide with the upcoming India vs West Indies T20 International scheduled for October 14. Ticket sales for the match are expected to begin around October 6 or 7. To support the event, the HCA plans to provide approximately 2,000 free tickets to government high school students. The association aims to demonstrate organizational expertise to secure more international matches for the city in the future.
