Hyderabad: Four arrested in fatal auto driver dispute
Four individuals have been arrested in Hyderabad following the fatal beating of a 42-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, Mohammed Mukarram, over a ₹20 fare dispute.
The incident occurred on September 20 in the Falaknuma area. According to police, the dispute began when a passenger, Mumtaz Unnisa, was unable to provide exact change for her fare. Although Mukarram initially left the scene without collecting the money, he was allegedly lured back to the Vattepally area via a conference call from another driver.
Upon his arrival, Mukarram was reportedly attacked by Syed Mohammed Azeem, Mohammed Shoaib, and Mohammed Imran Ali. During the assault, the accused allegedly pushed aside Mukarram's wife and daughter, who were attempting to intervene. Police state that Azeem struck Mukarram on the head with a motorcycle key while he was on the ground. Mukarram was taken to Esra Hospital, where he was declared dead.
