Hyderabad officials oversee voter revision and urban safety initiatives

In Hyderabad, GHMC Commissioner and District Election Officer RV Karnan inspected the distribution of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) notices in the Nampally Assembly constituency. Karnan met with election officials, including Booth-Level Officers, to ensure the systematic distribution of notices and to instruct them on assisting voters with the verification process.

Karnan advised electors to verify their details and submit necessary documentation within the prescribed timelines. He emphasized the importance of coordination among officials to resolve public queries and ensure eligible citizens can complete the voter revision process without difficulty.

Separately, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner G Srijana addressed the importance of urban safety during a panel discussion marking the 20th anniversary of the Society for Cyberabad Security Council. Srijana argued that safety extends beyond crime prevention to include inclusive urban infrastructure.

She highlighted that elements such as street lighting, pedestrian crossings, accessible footpaths, and public toilets are essential for the safety of women, children, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities. Srijana noted that well-lit and maintained public spaces are necessary to prevent vulnerability in a 24/7 urban environment.
