Hyderabad police arrest suspects in multiple murder and robbery cases

Police in Hyderabad have made several arrests in connection with distinct violent crimes involving drivers and a local businessman.

In one incident, authorities arrested three individuals for the murder of auto driver Mohammed Abdul Rauf. Investigators allege the killing was a revenge attack stemming from a grudge over the death of one of the suspects' brothers in Karnataka in 2024. The suspects allegedly used pepper spray and knives to attack Rauf before attempting to flee toward Karnataka.

In a separate case, seven people, including a juvenile, were arrested for the stabbing death of real estate businessman Mohammed Mehboob Ali. Police stated the motive was rooted in superstition, as the prime suspect allegedly believed Ali had used black magic to cause his mother's illness.

Additionally, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police arrested three people, including two juveniles, following a knifepoint robbery of cab driver Sabhavath Rajender Kumar. The suspects allegedly pulled the vehicle's handbrake to stop it, threatened the driver with a knife, and fled with the vehicle, cash, and mobile phones. All stolen property was recovered.
