Hyderabad police book multiple suspects in sexual assault of minor

Police in the Medchal Malkajgiri district near Hyderabad have booked multiple individuals under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old student.

The victim, a Class 11 student, reportedly became acquainted with one of the accused, J. Varun, during her 10th-grade year. According to police reports, the victim was drugged, abducted, and assaulted at various locations, including a car, a train, and a hotel room, over a period of three days.

The investigation indicates that the victim was subjected to intoxication and substance abuse by several individuals, some of whom she met through social media. After escaping from her captors, the girl returned home and filed a complaint at the Alwal Police Station. Authorities are currently working to identify and take action against all those involved.
