Hyderabad Police Commissioner warns against AI deepfake misuse

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has issued a warning regarding the misuse of artificial intelligence to create deepfakes. The issue arose after an AI-generated image of Sajjanar circulated on social media, falsely claiming an arrest had been made in connection with a deepfake controversy involving actor Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor.

Sajjanar tagged Jr NTR on X, requesting the actor take note of how some of his fans are allegedly using AI-generated content to spread misinformation. The Commissioner emphasized the increasing realism of AI-generated media, urging the public to verify the authenticity of images before sharing them to prevent the rapid spread of false information.
