Hyderabad Police Deploy AI Crowd Management System for Bonalu Festival

The Hyderabad City Police introduced an artificial‑intelligence‑based crowd management platform at the Mahankali Police Station to secure the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu festival in Secunderabad. Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar inspected the system, which provides real‑time monitoring of crowd movement, predicts queue lengths and can be linked to drones.

The facial‑recognition feature helped officers detain 13 suspects, including a man attempting to rob a devotee and individuals accused of harassing women. Officials said the technology will supplement conventional policing, improve safety during peak hours and be deployed at future large gatherings.
