Cyberabad police arrest two more in Rs 1,000 crore land scam

The Cyberabad Police in Telangana arrested Veladi Radhakrishna and his driver Gyara Praveen Kumar, bringing the total number of suspects captured in a large‑scale land fraud to ten. The case involves the illegal encroachment and sale of about 10 acres of government‑owned land in Gandipet valued at roughly Rs 1,500 crore, achieved through fabricated Government Orders, forged documents and false official records.

Police say the conspirators, including former MLA Bolla Brahma Naidu, used forged approvals to convince buyers that the land could be regularised. Financial transactions of about Rs 12 crore were traced, and investigators seized laptops, cheque books, stamps, bank passbooks, ATM cards and numerous falsified documents. The investigation continues to locate the remaining accused who are still absconding.
