Hyderabad Police Promote Cyber Safety and Technology‑Driven Policing

On July 4, the Rajendranagar Zone Police in Hyderabad conducted a cyber‑crime awareness programme at the Telangana State Institute of Rural Development, training 520 participants on digital scams, phishing, fake investment schemes and UPI payment frauds. Deputy Commissioner S. Sreenivas urged victims to call the National Cyber Crime Helpline (1930) during the “golden hour” to help freeze fraudulent transactions.

State Director General of Police C. V. Anand subsequently directed officers to adopt technology‑driven, people‑centric policing. He highlighted fuller use of CCTNS, e‑Sakshya and the Lathi App, noted that about 70 % of cyber‑crime cases originate in Hyderabad’s four commissionerates, and called for faster registration and investigation. Anand also emphasized anti‑drug measures, road‑safety initiatives, and the planned integration of the 112 emergency response system with drones, while recognizing several officers for exemplary service.
