Hyderabad police propose new one-way traffic system at Lakdikapul

Hyderabad police are planning to introduce a new one-way traffic system near the Lakdikapul bus stop to alleviate congestion, following a similar model implemented around KBR Park. City Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar and senior officials recently inspected several key locations, including Dwarka Hotel, HDFC junction, Iqbal Minar, and Ravindra Bharathi, to assess road conditions and the feasibility of the plan.

The proposed diversions would affect vehicles heading towards Mehdipatnam, Lakdikapul, and Khairatabad. Under the suggested routes, vehicles from Sant Nirankari may be diverted at Dwarka Hotel to reach Ravindra Bharathi junction via Telephone Bhavan and the AG Office. Additionally, motorists heading towards Masab Tank might be required to take a U-turn at the Gun Park rotary, which is set to reopen after being closed for several years.

Officials stated that the plan will be implemented on a trial basis following government approval. A final decision will be made after coordination meetings with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and the electricity department. Traffic experts are also being consulted to minimize motorist inconvenience.
