Hyderabad Regional Ring Road land acquisition completed for northern section

Land acquisition for the 161.5-km northern section of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR) is now complete. Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced that fresh tenders for this stretch are expected to be floated within approximately two months.

The northern section will connect several areas, including Sangareddy, Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Jagdevpur, Bhongir, and Choutuppal. This segment is being developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana scheme.

In contrast, the 202-km southern section remains pending as the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has yet to decide on the alignment submitted by the state. The Telangana government has requested that the southern stretch be included under a central scheme so both halves of the 362.5-km ring road can be constructed simultaneously. The proposed southern route is a six-lane greenfield expressway connecting Thangadpalli to Sangareddy, passing through 55 habitations across multiple districts.
