Hyderabad student Sai Pradeep dies by suicide in the US

Sai Pradeep, a 24-year-old student from Hyderabad, allegedly died by suicide in the United States on August 21. Pradeep had moved to the U.S. in 2024 for higher education and recently completed a master’s degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Some sources indicate he was struggling with the pressure of a four-month job search in a difficult market, while others suggest he was experiencing severe emotional stress following a relationship setback. His family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist with the costs of returning his body to India.

This incident follows other recent cases of Indian students in the U.S. struggling with mental health and employment, including Vaibhav Duggal in Texas and Iraganaboyina Chandu in Chicago, highlighting growing concerns regarding the challenges faced by international students after graduation.
