Hyderabad voter digitisation lags below 60% in electoral roll revision

Hyderabad has completed approximately 58.4% of its digitisation under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls for 2026. Despite multiple extensions to the enumeration deadline, the district's progress remains the lowest among the 33 districts in Telangana.

Reports indicate that 18.74 lakh electors—representing 39.58% of the total 47.36 lakh electors in the district—were identified as Absent, Shifted, or Dead (ASD). The enumeration forms for these individuals were reported as uncollectible.

Officials suggest that slow progress is partly due to migration patterns, as many residents maintain voter registrations in their native hometowns rather than relocating them to Hyderabad. The deadline for the submission of SIR enumeration forms is set to close on August 10.
