Telangana ACB arrests officials and seizes assets worth nearly ₹100 crore in Hyderabad

The Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana arrested a Sub‑Inspector (M. Kiran Nandita) and a constable (B. Vijay Kumar) from Bowenpally police station after catching them accepting a total bribe of ₹30,000 for relaxing bail conditions and extending police cooperation. Both officers were taken into custody on May 20, 2026 and produced before a special court.

In a separate operation, ACB teams raided the residence and related properties of Anantha Laxmi Kumar, General Manager of the Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board. Searches at his home in Mallapur and eight other locations uncovered cash of about ₹1.10 crore, gold jewellery weighing roughly 2 kg, silver items, a Maruti Ritz car, and multiple immovable assets, bringing the estimated value of seized assets to nearly ₹100 crore. Earlier, on May 19, 2026, the bureau had reported disproportionate assets of ₹5.88 crore linked to the same official.

Both investigations are ongoing, with further verification of assets and legal proceedings pending.
