Hydes Brewery pub crawl winners awarded £1,500 prize

Andy Sharpe and Trevor Jones, two regulars from The Mount pub in Chester, have won a £1,500 grand prize in the ‘Race Across Hydes’ pub crawl challenge. The duo completed a circuit of 27 participating venues in under 24 hours, covering an estimated 250 miles across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, the Wirral, and North Wales.

The winning strategy involved teamwork where Trevor acted as the driver while Andy entered each location to purchase a drink and collect a required map stamp. Their rapid progress allowed them to beat 13 other groups that successfully visited all 27 pubs before the deadline.

Organized by Hydes Brewery, the summer-long initiative aimed to showcase the variety within the company’s 44-pub estate. The winners were announced during a celebratory event at The Victoria in Withington.
