Hydnum Steel nears Puertollano project goals with 150 million euro COFIDES funding

Hydnum Steel CEO Eva Maneiro has announced that the company is “very close” to achieving its industrial project goals in Puertollano, Spain, despite facing several obstacles in recent months.

The company has secured 150 million euros in funding from COFIDES, an institution under the Ministry of Economy, following successful financial, technical, and social viability assessments. Additionally, the project has been awarded the Industrial Decarbonization PERTE by the Ministry of Industry.

Regarding regulatory progress, the regional government of Castilla-La Mancha has granted initial approval for the Project of Singular Interest (PSI). Final approval is expected by the end of October. Local authorities in Puertollano, Almodóvar del Campo, and Brazatortas are currently processing environmental impact assessment procedures through their respective municipal councils.
