HYDRAA Court Orders Halt to Hyderabad Land Acquisition and Structure Removal

The Supreme Court of India has sent a matter concerning a gate, fencing and retaining wall at Bathukamma Kunta back to the Telangana High Court, directing that the state high court assess whether the structures may remain. The apex court declined to rule on the merits and allowed the petitioner to file objections to the compliance affidavit.

Separately, the Telangana High Court issued an interim injunction restraining the HYDRAA from taking any coercive action on 26.03 acres of agricultural land in Bahadurguda village, part of a 650‑acre parcel earmarked for a high‑speed rail project. Four farmers claim long‑standing possession of the land, while the state argues that title documents are missing. The order preserves the status quo until further hearings.
