HYDRAA rescuers free man trapped in Moosapet lift accident

A 40-year-old man named Murali was rescued after being trapped between a lift and a building wall in Anjaneya Nagar, Moosapet, on Sunday. The incident occurred in a three-storey building when Murali was attempting to step out of an old, grill-enclosed lift on the second floor. As he was exiting, someone on the third floor pressed the lift button, causing the lift to move upward suddenly. This left Murali with one leg inside the lift and the other on the second-floor landing, trapping his leg in the lift grille and leaving him hanging between the second and third floors.

Following an alarm raised by Murali’s wife, a HYDRAA Disaster Response Force (DRF) team from Kukatpally arrived at the scene at approximately 9:30 am. Under the supervision of Marshal JDV Prasad, and with assistance from the Sanathnagar Fire Station, rescuers spent nearly 1.5 hours conducting the operation. The team used a hydraulic cutter and had to break open part of the lift wall to free him. Murali was successfully extracted at 10:50 am and transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for a leg fracture caused by the incident.
