Hydra's role in the Messolonghi struggle to be explored in new book

The Municipality of the Holy City of Messolonghi and I. Sideris Publications are organizing a book presentation for ‘Hydra in the Struggle of Messolonghi – The Battle of Logistics’ by Georgios E. Koukoudakis. The event is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 20:00, at the Trichoupia Cultural Center in Messolonghi.

The book utilizes historical research to examine the critical role Hydra played during the Greek War of Independence, specifically focusing on the importance of logistics and organized support for the fighters. The author, Georgios E. Koukoudakis, serves as the Mayor of Hydra and an Associate Professor at the Evelpidon Military Academy.

The presentation will feature speakers including Kostas Yfanis, a Professor of International Relations at Panteion University; Konstantinos Mazarakis-Ainian, retired Vice Admiral and Director General of the Catherine Laskari Foundation; Ioannis Aletras of the Messolongites Association of Attica; and publisher Andreas Sideris.
