Hydro-Québec targets autumn 2026 for wind mast installation
Hydro-Québec plans to begin the installation of six wind measurement masts in the Charlevoix-Est MRC by the end of 2026, with primary work expected to take place during the autumn season.
In July, the state-owned utility conducted field visits with local land managers to confirm necessary interventions on roads and at the designated sites. Calls for proposals were issued in late June for preparatory tasks, including land clearing and road repairs, though contracts have not yet been awarded.
The MRC de Charlevoix-Est has permitted these wind measurements on its territory, though officials emphasized that this approval does not constitute support for the future implementation of a wind farm.
