Hydrogen energy developments advance in aviation and industrial sectors
Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE) has secured a contract from Chart Ferox to supply a specialized liquid hydrogen (LH2) pump system for a hydrogen tanker truck. This equipment is part of the Goliat project, a European initiative coordinated by Airbus and 15 EU partners aimed at developing high-flow LH2 handling and refueling technologies for future commercial aircraft operations. The completed tanker trailer is scheduled for testing in 2028.
In a separate development in the Netherlands, Perpetual Next and Lhyfe Delfzijl have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the long-term supply of renewable hydrogen to the planned DeltaNor biomethanol plant in Delfzijl. The partnership aims to investigate integrating hydrogen from Lhyfe’s planned 120 MW production site to support Perpetual Next’s facility, which targets a capacity of 220,000 tons of biomethanol per year. The potential supply could reach approximately 12,000 tons of renewable hydrogen annually to assist in decarbonizing the maritime and chemical sectors.
