Hydrogen station construction begins in Vriezenveen, Netherlands; Belgium expands EV charging at train stations

In Vriezenveen, Netherlands, a multifunctional fuel station is under construction along the N36. The site will provide traditional gasoline, electric vehicle charging and, from 2027, green hydrogen produced on‑site by an electrolyser powered by a floating solar park. The project, part of the Energyhub Twente initiative, received more than €6 million in subsidy from the Dutch Waterstof in Mobiliteit programme.

In Belgium, EnergyVision and the national railway operator NMBS have commissioned 24 public charging points at Herentals station, marking the first milestone of a nationwide rollout. The partnership aims to equip the parking facilities of all 420 NMBS stations with roughly 5,000 charging points by 2027. Over 500 charging points are already operational at more than 100 stations, with further installations planned across all regions.
