Hyelin of EXID opens successful taco restaurant in Seoul

Hyelin, a former member of the K-pop group EXID, has successfully transitioned into the food service industry by opening a taco restaurant in the Anguk district of Seoul. During a recent appearance on Cao Lu’s YouTube channel, Hyelin shared that the business generates approximately 140 million won in monthly sales, with a net profit of about 40 million won after expenses.

Hyelin explained that she pursued entrepreneurship to establish a more stable income, noting that earnings in the entertainment industry can be unpredictable. She entered the business after meeting a taco shop owner who suggested a partnership for a prime location in Anguk. To manage her various roles as a singer, DJ, musical performer, and business owner, she utilizes management assistance and relies on a collaborative staff.

Reflecting on her career, Hyelin revealed that she worked various part-time jobs, including at an ice cream franchise and an Italian restaurant, even while active as an idol. She noted that the decision to start her own business was driven by a desire to build a secure future and explore new capabilities beyond singing and dancing.
