Hygiene and skincare considerations for seniors over 60

As individuals age, particularly after 60, changes in skin regeneration and bodily functions necessitate specific hygiene and skincare approaches.

For skincare, ingredients such as peptides, 24-karat gold, and snail mucin are noted for their ability to provide lifting effects, radiance, and smoothing of deep wrinkles. Products like ceramide meso-boosters and ultra-lifting creams are recommended to maintain the skin's protective barrier and hydration.

Regarding hygiene, the National Institute on Aging (NIA) highlights that aging can lead to gum disease, dry mouth, and reduced saliva production due to medication, which can impact oral freshness. Proper hygiene, including tongue cleaning and dental care, is essential to prevent the accumulation of bacteria and odors. Additionally, the nasal mucosa can become irritated or dry in older adults, especially in dry indoor environments, affecting the nose's function as a natural filter.
