HyImpulse secures over 50 million euros for rocket launch development

German space technology company HyImpulse has secured over 50 million euros in a Series A funding extension to advance its suborbital and orbital launch programs. The funding round was co-led by JOIN Capital and Ace Capital Partners, with participation from the German Aerospace Center (DLR), North Ventures, BW-Capital, and Bayern Kapital.

The company intends to use the capital to expand production and commercialize its launch services. Key objectives include preparing for the next launch of the SR75 suborbital rocket and the maiden flight of the SL1 orbital launch vehicle. HyImpulse utilizes proprietary hybrid propulsion technology, which combines paraffin-based fuel with liquid oxygen to reduce system complexity compared to traditional liquid-fuel systems.

HyImpulse is targeting commercial, institutional, and defense markets. A second SR75 launch is planned for the end of 2026 at the SaxaVord Spaceport in Scotland, following its initial flight campaign at the Koonibba Test Range in Australia in 2024.
