Hyosung Heavy Industries and Siemens form digital power partnership
Hyosung Heavy Industries has signed a Global Strategic Partnership Agreement (GSPA) with Germany based Siemens to target the digital power grid and AI data center solution markets. The collaboration focuses on three primary areas: digital asset management, digital substation solutions, and integrated power solutions for data centers.
In the digital power infrastructure sector, the companies will develop an integrated diagnostic system covering ultra-high to low voltage equipment. This involves linking Hyosung’s ‘ARMOUR+’, which uses AI to predict equipment lifespan and anomalies, with Siemens’ ‘Electrification X’, a cloud-based control system for medium and low voltage distribution networks. This integration aims to prevent power outages and improve operational efficiency.
For digital substations, the partnership will combine Hyosung’s power measurement sensors with Siemens’ digital signal conversion devices to meet diverse customer specifications. Additionally, the companies plan to enhance AI data center efficiency by combining Hyosung’s next-generation semiconductor transformers (SST) with Siemens’ Energy Management Systems (EMS).
