Hyperliquid HYPE token hits record high amid U.S. regulatory optimism

The Hyperliquid native token, HYPE, has reached a new all-time high of approximately $82, driven by significant market momentum and regulatory optimism. A primary catalyst for the rally was a statement by President Donald Trump, who indicated that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is working to establish a compliant pathway for Hyperliquid to operate within the United States. This news was echoed by Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who described potential U.S. market access as a victory for the broader crypto industry.

Alongside the price surge, Hyperliquid has seen substantial growth in its underlying metrics. The platform's open interest has surpassed $13 billion, and it has processed approximately $200 billion in trading volume over the last 30 days. During the first half of 2026, the decentralized exchange reported generating $419 million in fee revenue and capturing 54.5% of the on-chain perpetual futures market.

However, the rally faces potential headwinds from institutional movements. On-chain data shows that Multicoin Capital-linked wallets transferred over $31 million worth of HYPE to Coinbase Prime in recent days, raising questions about possible sell pressure. Additionally, other large-scale whale transactions and exchange inflows have introduced significant supply into the market near key resistance levels.
