Hyper Island warns AI speeds decision‑making, pressing executive‑education leadership

Hyper Island marks its 30th anniversary, recalling its 1996 founding in a former prison in Karlskrona, Sweden. CEO Heidi Rundt told the Financial Times that artificial intelligence is accelerating execution faster than many leaders can decide, increasing pressure on leadership models and work styles in executive‑education programmes.

The Financial Times estimates the global executive‑education market could grow from US$42.5 billion in 2023 to US$98.6 billion by 2030. The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs 2025 report says 39 % of current skills will be transformed or become irrelevant by 2030, with 59 % of workers needing upskilling and 85 % of employers planning competency‑development initiatives, highlighting AI, data analytics and digital literacy as fast‑growing skill areas.
