Hyperliquid ecosystem sees surging HYPE flows and institutional adoption

Hyperliquid and its ecosystem are experiencing significant market activity and institutional integration. The native token, HYPE, has seen a 350% surge in 12-hour spot net flows, even as high-net-worth holders recently offloaded approximately 1.95 million tokens worth $110.46 million.

On the corporate side, Hyperion DeFi reported a record Q2 net income of $31 million, a sharp increase from $8.8 million in Q1. However, analysts note this profit was largely driven by $54.8 million in treasury gains resulting from the rising price of HYPE. While the core operating business grew, with adjusted gross profit reaching $1.15 million, the company's bottom line remains heavily tied to token valuation.

Institutional adoption is also expanding. AMINA Bank AG, a Swiss-regulated entity, has added trading and custody support for HYPE to meet the needs of professional investors. Meanwhile, the Hyperliquid protocol's builder fee model—which allows third parties to keep up to 50% of trading fees—has come under scrutiny from industry figures like Kain Warwick, who questioned the long-term sustainability of such high incentives.
