Hyperliquid Derivatives Exchange Records $11 B Open Interest, RWA Markets Reach $3.6 B

Hyperliquid, a decentralized derivatives exchange, posted a total open interest of about $11 billion on July 13, 2026, the highest level for the year. The surge was driven by strong activity in its HIP‑3 perpetual futures segment, which contributed roughly $3.7 billion, and its real‑world asset (RWA) markets, which hit a new record of $3.6 billion.

The RWA segment now accounts for roughly 30 % of Hyperliquid’s overall activity, reflecting growing demand for tokenized representations of traditional assets such as equities, commodities and forex. Analysts see the record open‑interest figures as a sign of robust participation from both institutional and retail traders in decentralized finance, while noting that the metric does not indicate trade direction. The platform’s growth is attributed to expanded product offerings and 24/7 access to synthetic tokens, positioning it as a notable player in the evolving DeFi derivatives landscape.
