Hyperliquid HYPE token hits record highs amid regulatory signals

Hyperliquid's native token, HYPE, has reached multiple all-time highs, recently hitting approximately $84.80. This price surge is driven by two primary factors: regulatory developments and structural protocol changes.

On the regulatory front, President Trump indicated that the CFTC is working on a compliant pathway for Hyperliquid’s perpetual futures to enter US markets. Structurally, the protocol activated its AQAv2 (Aligned Quote Asset v2) framework on August 26. This mechanism directs roughly 90% of the yield generated from USDC reserves toward the Assistance Fund, which is used for programmatic HYPE buybacks and burns.

Financially, Hyperliquid Strategies reported significant growth, with its HYPE treasury increasing to approximately 29.3 million tokens, valued at $1.9 billion as of June 30. The company reported $305.5 million in annual net income and holds over $2 billion in total assets with no debt. Additionally, the platform has expanded its offerings by launching tokenized versions of US equities and ETFs, including NVDAx, QQQx, and SPYx, to enable 24/7 trading.
