Hyperliquid's HYPE Token Overtakes Dogecoin, Reaches $1.2 B in Fees

Hyperliquid's native token HYPE has moved ahead of Dogecoin in market capitalization, placing it among the world's top‑10 cryptocurrencies with a valuation of roughly $16 billion versus Dogecoin's $15.9 billion. Since its 2024 launch, the protocol has generated over $1.2 billion in cumulative fees, outpacing daily fee revenue on both Solana and Ethereum platforms.

A coordinated whale sale linked to an Andreessen Horowitz‑associated wallet moved about 105,400 HYPE tokens worth $6.48 million, causing the price to fall nearly 10 % to the $58–$62 range. The token operates a buy‑back‑and‑burn model that has removed about 14.5 % of its initial supply, creating deflationary pressure. Hyperion has pledged 500,000 HYPE to Skew Technologies to expand perpetual futures markets, and the platform reported $215 million in protocol revenue in Q1 2026 and $104 million in Q2 2026. Market analysts assign a 30 % probability that HYPE will reach $100 by the end of 2026, citing strong fee generation and institutional partnerships as key drivers.
