Hyundai and BYD boost European EV charging with discounts and ultra‑fast stations

Hyundai Connected Mobility announced an expansion of its Charge my Hyundai partner network to 13 European markets, including Spain, Austria, France, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The program designates preferred charging operators, offering users of the Smart tariff a 30 % discount at those stations and a 10 % discount elsewhere, aiming to simplify public‑charging costs and improve the electric‑vehicle experience.

Chinese EV maker BYD set a new European charging‑speed record with a 1 500 kW super‑charger installed in Leganés, near Madrid. During tests the unit charged a 122.49 kWh battery from 10 % to 97 % capacity in 8 minutes 51 seconds. BYD plans a rapid rollout of up to 300 stations in Spain and 3 000 across Europe by the end of 2026, featuring ultra‑fast partial and near‑full charging capabilities and low‑cost tariffs for early adopters.
