Hyundai and Nissan hybrid systems named to WardsAuto 10 Best

The 2026 WardsAuto 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems awards have recognized hybrid powertrains from both Hyundai Motor Company and Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

Hyundai’s 2.5 turbo hybrid system, featured in the Palisade Hybrid, was selected for its performance and technical competitiveness. The system delivers a maximum output of 334 horsepower and achieves a combined fuel efficiency of 14.1 km/L. This marks Hyundai’s 20th time receiving this industry recognition.

Nissan’s e-POWER system, utilized in the new Rogue Hybrid, was also named to the list, marking Nissan’s 25th award. The e-POWER technology uses an engine solely to generate electricity, which then powers dual motors to drive the wheels, providing a smooth, motor-driven driving experience. The Rogue Hybrid is expected to arrive in U.S. dealerships starting in autumn 2026.
